Personally, I didnt wear any protective gear until i got a cut hand then o put on gloves. Then i stabbed my leg so i use a thick pad. Then i nearly got a peice in the eye so i got some googles. I think if your knapping you shoudl use protective gear defo. I use a dust mask now and again. but prefer to work outside and there is plenty of wind to carry the dust away so should be alright.

Over here, they tell us to wear leather gloves, dust masks and safety glasses when working flint. Do you take any precautions?
