Carving with flint.

I knapped some flint blades and had a go at carving something with them. By shear chance I ended up with a brilliant little chisel edge which make lovly curls in a piece of wood. Perfect for feather sticks.

  1. Great curls there, Andy! I once tried my hand at flint knapping only to completely destroy a chunk of obsidian. All force and no finesse I suppose.

I'm not sure if you saw but I responded to your question re: carving books. "Whittling Twigs and Branches" by Chris Lubkemann is a great starter book. It's how I got going into the whole whittling thing.

    Wonderful Whittlin'

  3. I have knapped a few arrowheads, but I have never tried wood working with a hand made tool before. I would like to make an all wood bow with hand knapped tools.
